Swimmer in Transition 2 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hi All,

I finished my final competitive swimming career recently and am looking to get more involved in triathlons. I have done a couple (olympic distance) but am looking for some people to start training with more seriously.

I live near Dinkytown so if anyone is looking to do some training along either east or west river parkway or the greenway in the early mornings, weekends, or later evenings I'd definitely be up for that. Also, I work in Stillwater so if there are people around that area looking for training partners that would also be great. As for the swim side of things I'm always up for helping out with stroke technique or whatnot if anyone is interested.

Kaarin,

Hi I think we meet at the TCMC meeting at Summit Brewing. On thursdays there is a group of us that go from Saint Louis Park to St. Paul to do hill repeats on the high bridge and go past the parkway.

Yes, I remember meeting you. I typically get home around 5:45, what time does the group end up in the St Paul area and do you know the cross streets where you run the hill or the route on the parkway? I could probably meet up with you guys depending on where you are around 6. Are people going to be there this Thursday? If it's easier to coordinate via phone, my cell is 651-592-4797.

We meet at coach Jonny's House and get on the road by 5:30. You could always pick up the group on the cedar lake trail. We turn before downtown and cut down to the greenway and then turn left and head to the river/over to Smith Ave in St Paul for repeats.

Are you guys taking the Franklin or Lake Street bridge over the Mississippi? That might be the easiest spot for me to meet up if I am gauging your route correctly, especially with the time it will take for me to get there from work. I could meet on the east side of the river at whichever bridge you cross if you have any sense of what time you generally hit that point. And I'm happy to wait a few minutes there too so the timing need not be exact. I'd be great to meet a few more of you and get some good rides in.
