Grand Performance Bike Maintenance Series Presented By Motor-X

Session 1: Saturday, January 29^th 5-7pm

Three week maintenance

1. Quick and easy 10 minute bike clean. Learn to properly wash your bike, degrease and lubricate the drive train, check for wear and tear and to be able to spot if something needs replacement.
2. Front and Rear derailleur adjustments.
3. Brake adjustment (tension and pad placement) and when to replace.
4. Wrapping bar tape like a pro.
5. Tips and tricks about flat tire on the road without greasy fingers.  This will also cover everything flat tire related.
6. Q and A time.


Session 2: Saturday, February 5^th 5-7pm
Monthly maintenance

1. Where’s the Creak? Step by step protocol to narrow down where the tick, creek and clatter are coming from.
2. Headset and bottom bracket maintenances and installation. Creak trouble shooting is a great time to check headset bearing and bottom brackets (bearings) for wear. Learn how to tell what a worn bearing feels like and how to replace them.
3. 1000 miles already?  Learn to replace a chain and the trouble to avoid during the process.
4. Carbon grease? What is it and where to use it.
5. Tips and Tricks about how to ride home on a broken rear derailleur or hanger.
6. Q and A time.


Session 3: Saturday, February 12^th 5-7pm
Annual maintenance

1. Replacing Derailleur and  brake cables and housing.

2. All things wheels. Truing wheels and more.
3. Gluing tubular: the holly grail of bike mechanics. Learn everything needed to prep your own race wheels and feel they are in good hands

4. Q and A time.
